Tehom: Hebrew word meaning deep; sea; abyss. In the beginning, the Spirit of God brooded over the surface of the great deep. The prophet Habakkuk spoke of the deep uttering its voice and lifting its hands to God.
And Psalm 42 exclaims:
Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
The deepest recesses of our beings yearn for experience in the unfathomable depths of God’s Spirit as He woos us with breathtaking abandon; breakers of our fervent travail hiss and foam on the endless shores of His faithful mercies; dark and lovely cries of creativity and passion cascade from within us, roaring from deep waters where Holy Spirit and our human spirits connect.
